Out of billions of people He picked you to be His friend! Why? He wants to show and share with you all the wonders and beauty of His creation. He wants to spend time with you enjoying together all He has prepared just for you.
Love and Joy Perfected
9 “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.
10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
11 “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.
12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.
15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.
17 These things I command you, that you love one another.
For a friendship to grow it requires participation by spending time together.
Friendship defined: A close trusting relationship between two people.
In this case we have Jesus Christ the only Son of God and you who are the participants. Through Jesus you have access to the Father and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus will share with you life in the fast lane with the King of Kings driving but you have to get into the car.
He may ask you were you want to go and your road map is the Holy Bible, that is God's Word, Who is Jesus. Pick out a story and He will bring you into the setting and give you guided tour.
In the Old Testament you can discover His visits with personal friends such as Abraham and Moses. Before them He walked in the garden with Adam and Eve in the cool of the evening before they fell from grace. Enoch was also God's friend, the Word tells us Enoch walked with God and then he wasn't anymore. He was translated directly to Heaven without seeing death, similar to Elijah.
I don't know how Enoch made the trip but Elijah went to Heaven in a whirlwind.
If you aren't spending daily time with your friend Jesus you are really missing out on all this excitement.
He has so much to share with you and quite frankly once a week in church for an hour doesn't begin to scratch the surface.
Remember true friendship only comes as a result of doing things together, any relationship short of that results in only being an acquaintance.
New Christians can get to know Him beginning with the Gospel of John.
If you are a Christian at the acquaintance level, get up 30 minutes early everyday and spend it with Him in His Word. Your days will go much better than they have been for sure.
If you don't know Him you won't survive the things that are coming on the world immediately ahead. If you have read this far in this post He is standing at the doorway of your heart and knocking, PLEASE invite Him in! You are only one heartbeat away from eternity and you don't want to miss spending eternity with Him!
Knock, Knock, Knock, please answer the door! Open and say Hello Jesus please come in.... Oh Lord you know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior and you've come. Lord Jesus I repent of my sins, please forgive me and come into my heart and take over my life. I believe you came and died for me and rose again from the grave unto Eternal Life. Thank you Lord for saving me!!! (Next step)
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Romans 10:8-10
8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
