In Modern times we have looked at many possibilities such as the Old Roman Empire revived to include those countries that descended from the original Roman Empire. The European Union of ten nations until the number was exceeded.
The search and the claims have varied over the years often resulting in frustration for those presenting new revelations as well as for those who are watching and waiting to receive new information.
God provided the answers through His Word to Daniel. So why has there been so much confusion? God presented the answers to Daniel with one caveat.
Daniel 12:4 “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”
Daniel wanted to know just like many of us, but the Lord said we must wait until the times of the end.
Daniel 12:8 Although I heard, I did not understand. Then I said, “My lord, what shall be the end of these things?”
9 And he said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. 10 Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.
Anyone who is awake and looking around knows we are approaching the times of the end so let's take a fresh look at what He revealed in the Revelation of Jesus Christ and the book of Daniel.

End times kingdom, the feet of iron and clay, 10 Kings
Who are the ten kings that will rule for one hour?
Note: Revelation 17 refers to these kings as horns while in Daniel the toes represent these ten kings.
Revelation 17:7 But the angel said to me, “Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns. 8 The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. (Emphasis mine)
9 “Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits. 10 There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time. 11 The beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition.
12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. 14 These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.” (Emphasis mine)
Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream expanded
Daniel 2:40 And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron, inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything; and like iron that crushes, that kingdom will break in pieces and crush all the others. 41 Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. 43 As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. 44 And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. 45 Inasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold—the great God has made known to the king what will come to pass after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure.” (Emphasis mine)
Who are the ten kings? Will they be human or Atlantis kings brought back from the dead? Maybe fallen angels that God will release for a short time?
- I don't have the answer just more questions. An interesting point came to my attention from Scripture regarding their origin in Daniel 2:43 (they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay)
- Fallen angels did that in Genesis 6 and their giant offspring existed before and after the flood. We are told these last days will be as in the days of Noah.
Luke 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:
- Could these original fallen angels make another appearance during our times? Angels are eternal beings, they don't die, however their giant offspring do die.
Jude 1:6 And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; (Emphasis mine)
Daniel 12:1 “At that time Michael shall stand up,
The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people;
And there shall be a time of trouble,
Such as never was since there was a nation,
Even to that time.
And at that time your people shall be delivered,
Every one who is found written in the book.
2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake,
Some to everlasting life,
Some to shame and everlasting contempt. (Emphasis mine)

Perdition defined - King James Dictionary (KJD)
The utter loss of the soul or of final happiness in a future state future misery or eternal death. The impenitent sinner is condemned to final perdition.
If we reject the truth, we seal our own perdition.
